Michael Murphy, CPA, CA, is a Business Advisor with MNP’s Tax Services team working out of both the Abbotsford and Chilliwack offices. Michael presents solutions and advice to agricultural clients, owner-managed businesses, charities and First Nations groups, helping them minimize taxes and maximize profits.
Michael assists with all aspects of Canadian tax, including cross-border transactions, commodity taxes, estate planning and agricultural research and development tax planning. He strives to understand his clients so he can help them achieve their personal and business goals.
After graduating from McGill University in 1992, Michael became a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), qualifying as a Chartered Accountant (CA) in 1994. He received the Certified Public Accountant (CPA (USA)) designation in 1997. The following year he earned a Graduate Diploma in taxation from McGill University and he later completed CPA Canada’s In-Depth Tax Course. Michael is a former volunteer teacher in McGill’s Graduate Diploma program.
