Mike McCormack, CFI, is a graduate of Carleton University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology with a major in Law and Sociology. Mike is designated as a Certified Forensic Investigator.

Before joining MNP, Mike served for 24 years at the Ottawa Police Service, where he worked in municipal and federal policing roles. He has experience investigating complex international financial crimes including a variety of fraud schemes, money laundering and proceeds of crime offences.

Mike was in charge of the Integrated Payment Team at the Ottawa Police and was responsible for the direction and investigation of payment card offences and large scale identity theft offences. Mike was designated by the Ontario Court as an expert in the identification of fraudulent payment cards and identification of fraud schemes. Mike served as the Anti-Organized Crime Coordinator for the European Union Police Mission in Bosnia and is experienced in dealing with international and national law enforcement agencies.

Mike was seconded to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Integrated Proceeds of Crime unit where he served as a team leader and manager. He was designated by the Ontario Court as an expert in the identification and detection of proceeds of crime. Mike has extensive knowledge of judicial authorizations, interviewing techniques and investigation techniques in confidential and sensitive investigations.
