John Visser, MBA, PMP

John Visser, BA, PMP is an IT Technical Specialist with MNP specializing in Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) tax credits. John draws on more than 2 decades of IT and project management experience ranging from programming through to technical strategies for legacy software systems. He focuses on preparing SR&ED claims for Canadian software development firms and companies of all sizes and across the country.

As a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), John carefully manages projects and aligns them with the client’s requirements and objectives. His strong leadership, communication and analysis skills, solid understanding of business and ability to work well with all levels in an organization enable him to clearly and concisely align project efforts with established success criteria.

Areas of claim specialization include financial trading software, financial institutions and payment management systems, game development, eCommerce and internal-use software, including enhancing legacy systems.

Working as an extension of the client’s team, John uses his technical experience to carefully analyze their information technology activities and align them with SR&ED requirements and objectives. The most critical aspect of a claim is working with the client to clearly and concisely align the work performed with the eligibility criteria for the SR&ED program. This process involves educating clients on the program, which is central to John’s approach of strengthening future claims.

John’s assistance is hands-on, involving careful analysis of expenditures and handling the many details of the claim. His goal is to ensure a successful claim that stands up to the rigorous scrutiny of the Canada Revenue Agency and provides the client with the highest possible returns.

John obtained a Computer Programmer diploma from CDI College of Business and Technology and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Manitoba. In 2003, he was designated an IBM Certified Associate System Administrator. PMI Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) was achieved in 2018. John is currently completing an MBA (Business Analytics).
