Alissa Kahan, CPA, CA, CBV, CFF, is a Senior Manager with MNP’s Valuations & Litigation Support group in Montréal. Alissa specializes in complex financial modeling and provides business valuation services for intangible asset valuation, mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, commercial litigation, family law, reorganizations of shareholdings and financial reporting and tax purposes.

Alissa has participated in the valuation of shares and business interests of private and public companies in a variety of industries, including manufacturing, distribution, wholesale and retail sales, renewable energy, construction, real estate and professional services. She helps business owners better understand the key value drivers of their businesses so they can position themselves for success.

In addition to valuing businesses, Alissa provides litigation support in the areas of family law and corporate litigation. In this capacity, she values business interests, determines the notional income of business owners and quantifies economic damages, providing clear information for use in resolving disputes. Alissa has been recognized by the Québec Superior Court as an expert in business valuation.

Alissa obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree and a Diploma in Public Accountancy from McGill University. She holds the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) and Chartered Business Valuator (CBV) designations, as well as the U.S. Certified Public Accountant designation in Illinois, and was Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants in 2016. Alissa was awarded the 2014 George Ovens Award for achieving the highest mark in Canada on the Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators’ Membership Qualification Examination.
